Joe Willis is a demolition expert working in the iron mines of Minnesota. When his son is injured in a football accident back home in Cleveland, Joe realizes he must get home to his son. After his truck breaks down, he is picked up by a sailor working on an iron boat, the SS Edmund Fitzgerald. The sailor schemes with Joe to smuggle him aboard the "Mighty Fitz". But the weather in November is fraught with peril. Can Joe make it home to his son in time, or will the Witch of November exact the ultimate price?
