Two year old Cate Robinson is a girl with magical healing powers. When the Providence, Rhode Island Mob gets wind of her, they force Cate's parents into letting the mob use Cate for nefarious purposes, all for a very high price.  Two low level mobsters, Joe and Leo, are put in charge of transporting Cate to various jobs. They fall for the little girl. When their bosses decide to kill Cate's parents, Joe and Leo decide they must live up to their oat of protecting Cate, even if it means going to war with the mob. The carnage spills into Andover, Massachusetts, with Chief Louise Consola finding herself and her town in the middle of a mob war.
